The Hole in the Head Gang

Sarasota, FL

Project Description

O.W.L.H.O.O.T.S. (“The Hole‑in‑the‑Head Gang”) is a volunteer-led Old West living history group based in Bradenton, FL. Their mission is to perpetuate the myths and legends of the Old West by reenacting historic events—like train robberies—at venues such as the Sarasota County Fair and the Florida Gulf Coast Railroad Museum . The site features intuitive navigation across sections like Home, Campfire, Gang Happenings, Our Players, and Periwinkle Junction, along with a Blog and Contact form.

🎯 Key Features & Content

  • Authentic Old West vibe: Friendly “Pull Up A Log” Campfire messaging invites visitors to explore history and community gatherings.

  • Event promotion: Clear highlights of upcoming events—e.g., March at Sarasota County Fair, an Old West Train Robbery in April 2025.

  • Volunteer-driven storytelling: Sections for gang members (“Our Players”), stories, photos, and blog posts bring the living-history experience to life.

💻 Site Design & Development by Deckard & Company, Inc.

We were thrilled to support O.W.L.H.O.O.T.S. by developing their site on WordPress using Elementor Pro, delivering:

  1. Custom design: A rustic, campfire-inspired style with clear menus and a homepage “saddle-in” call to action.

  2. Mobile‑responsive layout: Ensuring everything—from event listings to blog posts—performs smoothly on desktops, phones, and tablets.

  3. Easy content management: The client can effortlessly add new events, blog updates, “Gang Happenings,” and team member profiles via WordPress.

  4. Seamless contact: A built-in form makes volunteer sign‑ups and inquiries simple, while clearly showcasing social links like Facebook and YouTube.
